The city itself is often an extension of your apartment. Selecting the right neighborhood to complement your personality can be just as important as selecting the apartment. It is important to consider a few questions when making your decision. One major item is getting to and from work. What will your commute be like? Is there a convenient subway line nearby or perhaps a ferry or bus route? The city has a terrific transportation infrastructure, which makes it easy to get to most parts of the city using public transportation. All work and no play is not fun so you will also want to consider what the neighborhood has to offer in terms of leisure activities. Does the area fit your lifestyle? Do you enjoy spending your free time at the park? Are there restaurants you would like to frequent? What about museums, art galleries and shopping? Once you have narrowed your selection, it may be a good idea to spend some time in the neighborhood exploring just to be sure.
